Romanization

Hi there. I was going off this mostly:

However sometimes it's not always good, as some people read it like an English word literally. In general I'm against romanization except for maybe in "Survival Korean." I haven't had much time to update the site, but in about 3 weeks I should finally be free (writing a book at the moment). In all honesty I think it would be better to leave off romanization in the vocabulary part, but instead move it to the surival Korean section for people who might be going to Korea on short notice. For Survival Korean, I think your method of romanization would be better since people tend to read it as English words. What do you think? I'd be interested in your opinion. Thanks again! --DigitalSoju 02:27, 19 June 2011 (PDT)

Hello. I suppose I can use that as a romanization template, although, like you said, most people read it off like the literal English word, which does alter the pronunciation a bit, so if you don't mind, I believe that in the Survival Korean page, I'll try to adjust the Romanization according to what I believe would be easier for an Native English speaker to have a more..."accurate" Korean pronounciation, but will still use the link you gave me as a resource. Okay. For the vocab. parts I'll be sure to remember to take off the romanization and keep that to the Survival Korean pages. I'll be sure to keep in touch. THANKS AGAIN! And good luck with your book!--Dumpling 02:35, 19 June 2011 (PDT)
Yeah i agree. Some words like '넌' would be romanized as 'neon' and a person used to reading English would use probably say it like 니얀. One thing I do recommend is to use G for ㄱ, B for ㅂ,J for ㅈ and D for ㄷ. I think when people use K for ㄱ for example, it starts to sound more like ㅋ. For example 강남 as 'Kangnam' tends to sound like 캉남 because the initial K in English is aspirated just as ㅋ is. I think a lot of the Suvival Korean can be copied from the vocab sections and reorganized with romanization and useful sentences added. Probably have to cut out a lot of unimportant words as well. I'll be happy to jump in and help in a few weeks. Thanks :)--DigitalSoju 17:04, 20 June 2011 (PDT)
Cool beans. I'll keep that in mind once I start doing more additional major edits on the 'Survival Korean' Pages. At the current moment I'm a tad bit busy with Rationalwiki, Wikipedia, and Summer Courses. But I'm usually always online. :D Any help will be appreciated! THANKS!--Dumpling 17:09, 20 June 2011 (PDT)
Do you happen to know how to do a lot of advanced things on a wiki? I'd like to make the hanja section run of a symantic wiki or whatever it's called. --DigitalSoju 01:15, 21 June 2011 (PDT)
