First, great job! Didn't know it would be ready to roll out already on this wiki. I think in the future using the repeated speech form would be good too, i.e. "뭐라고?" "갈 거라고?" "공부했다고" etc
The problem is the cases are hard to detect because you have to know whether it's a verb or adjective and sometimes its both. For example 싸다 is a verb and adjective depending on the meaning. This form is also somewhat related to written form like 싸다 and 싼다. --Bluesoju 07:06, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm impressed; you managed to cover at least a decent number of irregular forms, though it would obviously be pretty difficult to be comprehensive about that. I made a note about words with the adjective forming suffixes -스럽다, -답다 and -롭다 always being irregular, so that could help. It would be nice if the past and present participles (for verbs - just the present participle for adjectives) were there - sometimes they're the hardest ones. Jjukumi 08:32, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I've tried some words but this application still doesn't seem to work perfectly though. (There may be much more words that do not match with each format.) Since it deals with words just automatically, it just changes the format without any consideration even when I try some words that don't exist in reality. But what's more important is some words of Korean can never be cunjugated as some specific forms.
Especially we can never make imperative sentences with adjectives but I can see this program still has some examples like 예뻐드리다, 예뻐주다, 예쁘세요(it can be used when it's a meaning of 예쁘십니다 or 예쁘시네요), 예쁘십시오, etc. To use 'to be pretty' as a verb, we rather use a verb, '예뻐지다', as a meaning of 'to become pretty', which can be cunjugated as 예뻐지기 위해서 (in order to become pretty), while '예쁘기 위해서' sounds quite strange. Because 예쁘다 is not a verb but an adjective in Korean grammar, it cannot be used like what verbs can be. Only when these words are combined with verbs, it would work.
- 예쁘다 + -어지다 = 예뻐지다
- 예쁘기 위해서 (incorrect), 예뻐지기 위해서 (correct)
- 파랗다 + -어지다 = 파래지다
- 파랗기 위해서 (incorrect), 파래지기 위해서 (correct)
So, I suggest it would be much better when this programme would be made individually for each verb section and adjective section.
Seconely, and some words have more than one meaning and each can be conjugated in a different way. For example:
- 걷다(to gather up): 걷어요, 걷고, 걷었다, etc
- 걷다(to walk): 걸어요, 걷고, 걸었다, etc
So, this needs to be considered as well.
And finally, on the explanation of each conjugation, -거든요 is not actually 'formal'. Putting -요 at the end of a verb is a way to show a kind of respect to the speaker, but the lowest way. (Actually foreigners always learn -요 at the first level, because it's the easiest way to show a bit of respect. However, it sometimes does sounds like a girly-speaking and appropriate in the formal places or situations).

Redesign
While it's fine now, I think in the future we should redesign the look of this application. At the beginning have it be able to choose all the modes in big blocks. Also the cell phone would be more than just a keypad, it would be imitating real Korean phones and the input would appear on the actual phone screen. It would be nice to have some professional graphics designers around. Any other thoughts? --Bluesoju 15:13, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
I agree, my plan is to keep version 1 the way it is and just focus on functionality. Once everything works the way it should, then I'll work on any visual changes in the next version. --Mstrum 15:52, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
How about making this app available for iPhones. It will probably only work for jailbroken iPhones, but would be very helpful. I found an iPod AIR packager here that might help: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/packagerforiphone/.
Errors
- 가다 --> 가었어
- When you enter a stressed 받침, it appears in another syllable block and not the intended one (with the exception of ㄲ). (Note: I have the Korean IME installed on this computer. After using the applet-thingy, the mode was switched to "Korean" rather than "Microsoft IME" (which is what it normally is.) I hope this helps :)
