Description

Adjective/Verb + (으)ㅁ : This turns the adjective or verb into a noun.

Notes

  • When used to make individual nouns, not every adjective and verb can be used, especially ones that originated from hanja since those usually have a noun form on their own.

Conjugation Rule

Conjugation Rule
Pattern Case Example
Rule 1: A/V + ㅁ If there is no 받침 or if the adjective/verb stem has ㄹ as a 받침 아프다 → 아픔
Rule 2: A/V + 음 If there is a 받침 at the end of the adjective/verb stem 죽다 → 죽음

Some common nouns that are made using A/V + (으)ㅁ.
