I'm using this talk page to propose a format for the Hangeul pages. This section should be completed in the very near future as it's frequently visited. -WikiSysop 16:43, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Individual pages

Each Hangeul letter(자모) should have a detailed page:

  • Basic sound
  • Sound in the initial position (with audio)
  • Sound in the middle position (with audio)
  • Sound in the final 받침 position (with audio)
  • Other sounds this letter is capable of making (i.e. through consonant assimilation)
  • Background information on the character, for example where it was derived from.
  • IPA
  • Stroke order diagram
  • Stroke order animation
  • Links to any consonant assimilation rule that applies to this character
  • Plenty of examples with audio
  • Every possible way to write the character, some characters have many variations.

Project underway

This project is officially underway as I've purchased a great digital voice recorder. Before recording begins in few days we must carefully select the sounds we want recorded. Some general information:

  • Record will be probaly stat on 8/3/09, giving us some time to finalize exactly how we want to do this and which sounds we want to use.
  • We don't introduce the 받침 until step 4, so the first four steps should not include a 받침.
