Hi, first welcome to our site. Thank you for your suggestions, Matt is the guy who's programming Hangeul Assistant, so he might get an idea from that. --Bluesoju 01:47, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Hello. Thank you for the welcome.

Several weeks ago, I obtained a high quality hand-held recorder that I might be able to use to create audio samples.

There are certain consonants in Korean that simply cannot be described sufficiently in English (까, 빠, 따, 싸), so I think it's imperative for this wiki project to provide audio samples for each vocabulary in the database.

However, I'm not sure how I might upload audio files & post them on the appropriate pages. Could you tell me what I could do to accomplish this? (Chunbum Park 02:39, 11 July 2009 (UTC))

You're absolutely right about that. I've been working these days, but summer break starts in 1 week for me. During the break I will try to treat this website like a full time job and I've already coordinated with some people to begin recording those sounds for hangeul page. We will offer two basic sounds for the beginner, the voice of a man and a woman in their 20's as the standard voice. However in the future we would like to offer more different types of voices. On top of that we'd like to create listening practices for distinguishing between ㅋ, ㄲ, ㄱ -- ㅌ, ㄷ, ㄸ, -- ㅍ, ㅂ, ㅃ (and so on).
Is your handheld recorder digital? If so does it record in mp3? Let me know and I can teach you what to do from there. I see you are bilingual and seem passionate about Korean history. We'd also like to put up articles in the future about the history of Hangeul and I have a personal interest in archaic Korean 자모 (though I know nothing about them). --Bluesoju 03:07, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Yes it is digital. At Citizendium, I'm currently working on the Kimchi article. The progress that I've often resulted on such Korea-related topics was always slow because it is very difficult to find the appropriate references. I'm looking up Korean encyclopedia sites, but they're somewhat hard to understand for me. I think it would be best to rely on a comprehensive book rather than bits and pieces on the web to write about Hangeul. (Chunbum Park 03:59, 11 July 2009 (UTC))
