Another minor problem I found, if the person capitalizes letters after the first word in the definition it won't make it lowercase, for example: Automobile, Car. Car will still be uppercase. --[[User:DigitalSoju|DigitalSoju]] 01:51, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

We are trying to do a major overhaul of the Hanja pages, but we need help! Are you interested in helping? No Korean skill required, just basic rearranging. Also if you know photoshop, there is other work we need done too (very basic work). If you are interested in helping please let me know by signing your name on this page: Korean Wiki Project:Current Projects. One of our members has made a script, so it's pretty much copying and pasting.

Thanks for joining! I'll keep you updated on the situation. All information including tutorial videos will probably go up next week. I have a busy week ahead of me right now. --DigitalSoju 23:15, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Editing project

I'd like to email everyone involved in this editing project to give instructions. Could you email me using this: http://www.koreanwikiproject.com/about/contact/ and also mention your screen name? Thanks!

Thanks! --DigitalSoju 11:52, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Hey Ikzelf. The work you did for is just about perfect as far as I can tell. My only question about it is the order of the hanja, but I doubt that matters. (When I converted the Korean jamo to hanja in WordPad, I received them in the following order: 落樂酪洛諾駱珞烙. I usually follow that order and rearrange all hanja that were already present on each page, but I strongly doubt that that is mandatory.) If you felt unsure about anything having to do with the formatting, you should have no worries now. I encourage you to keep going with it.
Thanks for your work ^^ --Galinaros 17:38, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Ah hey thanks, good to hear! I've been wondering about the ordering of the Hanja. I used the Windows character map to get the ordering (and didn't touch the existing items). It seems the Wordpad method gives a completely different order than the character map. It would be nice if we could coordinate some kind of sorting system. The wordpad order would seem fine with me. Alternatively, perhaps we could look up the Korean character names on Naver, and then order them on that? (although, you might even want to fall back on English definition if you take that direction). Any idea on how to get an authorative answer on the best way to do the ordering? --Ikzelf 18:58, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

This is a good question. I don't know the method for how they are ordering it. I was thinking perhaps we should put the most used hanja at the top. Any missing characters i've just been putting them at the bottom of the page. The ones with examples I kept at the top. I don't think ordering really matters, most people will probably end up on the page looking for a particular character anyway. --DigitalSoju 02:30, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
I think you're right. The most used ones on top seems sensible to me. --Ikzelf 09:19, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
One mistake i found, your script takes in a space as a character, for example <五大洋 六大洲> had the space taken in and created [[ ]] --DigitalSoju 02:56, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Ah nice one, I fixed it. I'm sure there are more errors in there though. --Ikzelf 09:19, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Great job! You are free to choose any section you'd like to work on or just work on the next letter that hasn't been assigned yet --DigitalSoju 22:59, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

I removed someone from the ㄷ section. Would you like to take over that section? --DigitalSoju 23:10, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Sure. I'll fix it. --Ikzelf 10:11, 20 April 2010 (UTC)

Another minor problem I found, if the person capitalizes letters after the first word in the definition it won't make it lowercase, for example: Automobile, Car. Car will still be uppercase. --DigitalSoju 01:51, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

Ah yes, this is by design actually. The reason for it is that it's difficult to define which words are legitimately starting with a capital letter. I've now added a checkbox option above the submit button on k_hanja. If you check it, it will make the whole line lowercase. --Ikzelf 22:22, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

We have about 3 letters left for phase 1, would you like to take another letter as well? --DigitalSoju 12:17, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Sure! But I can only finish it next weekend.--Ikzelf 18:27, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
