General

This is the page where you can find any information on how to create or edit grammar pages. For more general editing help, check out the guidelines.

Creating and Naming Pages

  • Use the + symbol to connect grammar.
  • On grammar patterns that can have a 요 ending, have the particular grammar's main page be the one with 요 in the title and have the others redirect to it. For example the grammar pattern V + (으)ㄹ래요 would be the main page, while V + (으)ㄹ래 would redirect to V + (으)ㄹ래요. (explanation needs to be rewritten)
  • When using slashes(/) to separate certain grammar patterns, do not use spaces between them. For example make the title A/V + 아/어/여 not A/V + 아 / 어 / 여.
  • Do not use subject or object markers in the title, if it's necessary list it on the page's content, not in the title.
  • Use parenthesis to indicate optional things, i.e. V + (으)ㄹ 수(가) 있다.. make the main page have the optional thing, then make a similar redirect without it. For example V + (으)ㄹ 수(가) 있다 is the main page and V + (으)ㄹ 수 있다 redirects to it.
  • The only pattern that should have 아/어/여 is A/V + 아/어/여 + 요, for other patterns that use 아/어/여, just use 아/어 to keep it short and simple. For example:

Categorizing and Sorting

  • If (으)ㄴ / (으)ㄹ sort by ㄴ and ㄹ respectively, not by ㅇ
  • If the first letters are A/V or N, don't sort it by that, but instead the first Korean letter.

Creating Redirects

For simplicity in redirecting back to grammar forms, we commonly create redirect pages using the grammar pattern applied to 하다. For example, 할래요 should be a redirect to (으)ㄹ래(요).

Grammar Patterns with Multiple Usages

  • If a grammar pattern has a lot of usages, separate them into different pages. Make a disambiguation page that links to all of them.
  • If a grammar pattern has a few different usages, they can fit onto one page broken into two sections.
