Description

Adjective/Verb + 기는 틀렸다 : This pattern is used when one had mistakenly thought something, but now sees it is not possible.

Conjugation Rule
	Pattern	Case	Example
Rule 1:	Adjective/Verb + 기는 틀렸다	If there is no 받침 or if the adjective/verb stem has ㄹ as a 받침	가다 → 가기는 틀렸다
Rule 2:	Adjective/Verb + 기는 틀렸다	If there is a 받침 at the end of the adjective/verb stem	퇴근하다 → 퇴근하기는 틀렸다

오늘 일찍 퇴근하기는 틀렸어(=글렀어).	It's impossible to go home early today.	Low form
넌 성공하기는 틀렸다(=글렀다).	There is no hope of your success.	Low form
주말에 비온대. 여행가기는 틀렸어(=글렀어).	I heard that it'll rain this weekend. It's not possible to go on a trip.	Low form
첫차 타기는 틀렸어요(=글렀어요).	It's impossible to take the first bus.	Polite informal form
오늘안에 끝내기는 틀렸어(=글렀어).	It's impossible to finish it by the end of today.	Low form
성적이 떨어져서 장학금 받기는 틀렸어요(=글렀어요).	It's impossible to win a scholarship because my grades went down.	Polite informal form
비오네.. 밖에서 운동하긴 틀렸어(=글렀어).	It's raining. It's impossible to work out outside.	Low form
걔 남자친구 있대. 걔랑 데이트하기는 틀렸어(=글렀어).	I heard that she has a boyfriend. It's not possible to go out with her.	Low form
벌써 새벽 5시야. 오늘 자기는 틀렸어(=글렀어).	It's already 4 o'clock. It's impossible to go to bed tonight.	Low form
손자 갖기는 글렀다. 손자 갖기는 글렀어.	"I'll never have grandchildren, I'll never have grandchildren." <Friends> S1#01-Ross's wife turned out to be lesbian, prompting Ross's mother to say this quote.	Low form
