Description

Grammar pattern : (used when one admits the content of the first sentence. it is also used when the second sentence is contrasting to the first sentence)

한국어는 어렵습니다. 그래도 재미있습니다.
(=한국어는 어려워도 재미있습니다.)
Korean is difficult. But Korean is interesting. Formal declarative
에어컨을 켰어요. 그래도 아직 더워요.
(=에어컨을 켜도 더워요.)
I turned on the air conditioner, but it's still hot. Polite informal form
봄이 되었어요. 그래도 아직 추워요.
(=봄이 되어도 아직 추워요.)
It's spring but it's still cold. Polite informal form
철수는 외국인이야. 그래도 한국말을 잘해.
(=철수는 외국인이어도 한국말을 잘해.)
Chul Su is a foreigner. But he is good at Korean. Low form(반말)
여자친구와 헤어졌지만 그래도 나는 아직 걔를 사랑해. I broke up with my girlfriend but I still love her. Low form(반말)
몸이 안좋지만 그래도 일하러 가야해요. I don't feel good but I have to go to work. Polite informal form
나는 일본에서 3년동안 살았어요. 그래도 일본말은 못 해요. I was in Japan for three years. But I can't speak Japanese. Polite informal form
공부를 열심히 안했어요. 그래도 시험은 잘 봤어요. I didn't study hard. Nevertheless I did well on the test. Polite informal form
많이 먹었어. 그래도 아직 배가 고파. I ate a lot. But I am still hungry. Low form(반말)
