안 A/V

Description

안 Adjective/Verb : This pattern is equivalent to Not ~. This is used to negate the adjective/verb.

Conjugation Rule

• 안 + A/V
• Usually for 하다 verbs, the 안 is placed immediately before 하다.
  • 공부하다 (to study) → 공부 안 하다
  • 전화하다 (to call on the phone) → 전화 안 하다
  • 청소하다 (to clean) → 청소 안 하다

Conjugation Examples

• 예쁘다 → 안 예쁘다
• 바쁘다 → 안 바쁘다
• 무겁다 → 안 무겁다
• 깊다 → 안 깊다
• 달다 → 안 달다
• 많다 → 안 많다
• 어렵다 → 안 어렵다

나는 배 안고파.	I'm not hungry.	Low form

나는 안 갔어요.	I didn't go.	Polite informal form
난 안 피곤해.	I'm not tired.	Low form
대전은 여기에서 안 멀어요.	Dae Jun is not far from here.	Polite informal form
안 아파요?	Aren't you hurt?	Polite informal form
내 남자친구는 키가 안 커요.	My boyfriend is not tall.	Polite informal form
이 초콜릿은 안 달아.	This chocolate is not sweet.	Low form
