줄 Refers to a certain situation or fact. This is very comprehensive in possible meaning.

Although the "몰랐다" refers directly to " I didn't know" It can also be accurately translated as " I was unware" "I was uncertain" etc.

Pronunciation

  • When the pattern is A/V + (으)ㄹ 줄 몰랐다, due to consonant assimilation rules, 줄 gets pronounced as 쭐.
