Description

Verb + 지 마시오 : This means do not (do something). This is formal and used on public signs. This is not used in spoken language.

Notes

  • Sometimes there is no space between 지 and 마시오.

Rule 1: Verb + 지 마시오 If there is no 받침 or if the adjective/verb stem has ㄹ as a 받침 기대다 → 기대지 마시오
Rule 2: Verb + 지 마시오 If there is a 받침 at the end of the adjective/verb stem 잡다 → 잡지 마시오
