Description

Noun + 이/가 되다: This pattern is equivalent to the phrase become (Noun)


Notes

Conjugation Rule

The subject marker 이/가 is added to the noun, followed by the verb 되다. If the noun ends in a consonant, add 이. If the noun ends in a vowel, add 가.

Pattern Case Example
Rule 1: N + 가 되다 If there is no 받침 or if the adj/verb stem ends with a ㄹ 받침 부자가 되다
Rule 2: N + 이 되다 If there is a 받침 at the end of the adj/verb stem 학생이 되다
