What and Why
You may not know it, but if you click on your username at the top of the webpage you can create a page about yourself. This is a good oppertunity to show other members what kinds of skills and interests you have. Unlike most other websites, you have COMPLETE control over what it looks like. Your userpage is just like any other page in this wiki, a clean slate where you can add anything and style things however you want. The downside to that is that it really is a clean slate, there's no cookie-cutter form to fill out and have it show up. We try to make it easy for you to make your userpage look nice and be useful.
If you would like to see an example of a userpage, you can check out Matt Strum's userpage. It contains most of the available templates users can add on to their own userpage. If you like any certain section, go ahead and hit the EDIT tab and copy the relevant section.
Babel
We use the Babel system in order to track the languages spoken by the users. By using the Babel template, you add yourself to a list of users who speak that language and inform everyone what your language level is. The code you should copy into your userpage is:

Add one of the following codes for each language you speak or understand, separated by |, where xx is the MediaWiki language code, ISO 639-1 code, or ISO 639-3 code for the language. The general usage of each code level is as follows:
xx-0- If you don't understand the language at all.
xx-1- Basic ability - enough to understand written material or simple questions in this language.
xx-2- Intermediate ability - enough for editing or discussions.
xx-3- Advanced level - though you can write in this language with no problem, some small errors might occur.
xx-4- 'Near-native' level - although it's not your first language from birth, your ability is something like that of a native speaker.
xx-5- Professional proficiency.
xxorxx-N- Native speakers who use a language every day and have a thorough grasp of it, including colloquialisms and idioms.
For example, if you speak English natively and Korean at an advanced level you add:
